Why Luna?
Luna is Usagi's black guardian cat, as well as her and the other Sailor Guardians' adviser. She lives with Usagi and she is shown growing close to Artemis, another feline guardian who belongs to Sailor Venus. In the manga, Luna does take the form of a human multiple times of occasions.
Of all the Sailor Moon episodes and films, Sailor Moon S: The Movie was my favorite. Not only was it was a very sweet film, but it was the first time I had ever seen Luna turn into her human form. She took this form to pose as the "Princess of the Moon: Kaguya." for the human man she had developed feeling for. The moment was sweet and so incredibly magical. Years later, I finally decided to revisit this film while working on a project and decided to finally go for it and make one of my younger self's favorite looks.

How It Was Made
In retrospect, I would most definitely like to remake this with a little more time to do it in. I made this dress in 2 days the week before an event. Taking some light yellow satin, I custom drafted the pattern for the dress. The underskirt started off and just a black sheer that was cut into a circle skirt with a slight high low.
However, when I opted to upgrade the costume, I changed the wig to be a black/purple instead as Luna in her cat form is purple, so I wanted that small element to carry over to the human version. I then added a purple sparkle sheer to the black sheer so that the same element carried over and it was one of the favorite changes. I think it made the dress pop a bit more and a bit more depth.
