Why Rey?
Rey, was a human female Jedi Master who fought on the side of the Resistance in the war against the First Order. A former scavenger from the planet Jakku, her life was changed by the tumultuous events of the last days of the New Republic Era. Her decision to help the droid BB-8 would set Rey on a course to discovering the Force that awakened within her, leading her to seek out Jedi Master Luke Skywalker for training.
For me, Rey was my first submission to the Rebel Legion. Out of all the films, Rey was the character I was drawn to. The beautiful costumes of the prequels are incredible, and Leia's strength and brilliance as a general is something I will always look up to. But Rey was just a nobody in the middle of nowhere who was swept up into the war and resistance all because of a chance meeting with a droid. She is stronger than she knows and that was something that really just appreciated about her as a character.

How It Was Made
Rey's costume is what I like to call "simply complicated". While you can break the costume down into simple parts of her pouch, shirt, pants, and wraps, there are more details that need to really be looked at carefully. The colors and tones of Rey are very hard to replicate.
I drafted all my patterns, as everything is very custom. After doing heavy research into her materials and considering her locations, I went with raw silks for the shirt and pants. The raw material gives such an amazing texture to her look, which was perfect for her. The body wrap is a crinkle gauze. Everything here was dyed to give it that worn in and proper coloring. This part was the most difficult part as it took multiple test swatches and trial and error.
The pouch was one that I purchased and then heavily modified into the pouch I needed. The belt was commissioned.
My staff was 3D printed to with then I sanded, primed, and assembled.
Boots were the official boots from Po-Zu.
