Madeline Hatter
Way Too Wonderland from Ever After High
Why Maddie?
Madeline is bright, energetic, and extremely friendly. Also very optimistic. Generally, she interprets things more positive than they are, the one exception being when people are explicitly arguing. Madeline is also extremely fond of tea and keeps an entire tea set, including her tea buddy and pet Earl Grey, in her hat to be ready for tea time literally wherever she goes. The Wonderlandian magic which manifests in her is how she can do impossible things if she doesn't know they are impossible, she sometimes has visions of other times and other places, she can read people's thoughts as well as being able to hear the narrators, something which her peers don't believe her on.
I watched the Web-isodes of Ever After High on a whim one day while I was bored. And within the first minute of the first episode, when Maddie started arguing with the narrators of the story, I knew she was going to be my quirky little spirit animal of this series. While I give off a very serious vibe when people meet me, I can be just as zany, humorous, and out there as Maddie. And for that, I'm grateful for this amazing girl.

How It Was Made
Maddie's Way Too Wonderland dress had so many different versions. From the doll, to the animation, to official art. There is no actual connection to them. So I opted to merge my favorite parts together to make mine. I used this beautiful embossed brocade-like material. I then used a satin for the underdress, with the multiple strips done in the same fabric.
The leggings are taken from the doll look. This is a spandex from a shop in NYC that actually had the beautiful gradient to it and perfect for making the leggings for her. The bow is made from a purple satin with the purple poka dots being done with heat n'bond.
The really fun part was the hat. The cards were custom designed playing cards done by Oret Pena.
Finally, my shows. I bought a base platform heel shoe that I covered in blue spandex with the ruffle around the heel. Then, using craft foam, I built a stack of teacups to over the heels.
