Bayonetta

from Bayonetta

Why Bayonetta?

Bayonetta was born in Vigrid from the forbidden union of Lumen Sage Balder and Umbra Witch Rosa: the Witch was imprisoned and the Sage exiled from his clan. Bayonetta's birth caused a rift between the formally peaceful clans and eventually led to them engaging in a war. Bayonetta became a black sheep among the Umbran Witches, and during the war, Jeanne, her former childhood friend and rival, sealed her away and wiped her memory to protect her from those who would exploit her power.[20] For the next five hundred years, Bayonetta was sealed in a coffin at the bottom of a lake until she finally awakens from her sleep.

Long of the short: Bayonetta is one of the most badass women in gaming history. She is powerful, comfortable in her body, not afraid to flaunt her sexuality, and has a sass level of 100/10. How could you not love her?

How It Was Made

First and foremost, my guns were made by the incredible Lionel Lum. These are stunning pieces that I absolutely cherish to this day.

Everything on this suit was drafted from a custom pattern. Considering that Bayonetta's suit is supposed to be comprised mostly of hair, I had to get creative. To mimic the look and shine of her hair, I used a wet look spandex throughout for the sleeves and bodysuit. For the more matte pieces, a stretch faux leather was used. Gold, metal chains were hand-sewn to the suit.

The gloves were a custom pattern as well so that I could create the custom red palms of her glove. Custom boot covers and crescent moon belt buckles for the sleeves were some of my favorite elements of this costume.
